Wife and mother of 4 sons, to say I lead an abnormally busy life is an understatement. I work full time, tutor first grade students, and also go to school full time. A few months ago, I woke up in the morning and began my daily ritual of first, checking my phone to see what my Facebook notifications were. That was when it hit me, I am spending too much of the time that I don't have on Facebook. I decided at that moment that I would give my mind a break and close out my Facebook account for one year. I also decided that I would blog daily about what my life was like without Facebook. Would I get more accomplished? How bad would I miss it? What about the family members that I only talk to using Facebook?
With so many questions, I knew in order for me to be successful in this endeavor I had to prepare. First, in October, I started the tedious process of going through all the pictures that I had downloaded to Facebook since 2009. I could not believe how much of my life I had exposed for the world to see. Some of the memories left me cracking my side in laughter while others made me cry tears of sadness. It was an eye opening experience. Next, I went through all of my messages to get addresses and phone numbers of family and friends that I had requested their information to get in touch with them at a later date. Last but not least, I created this site.
